Last 5,000 inscriptions for the Entel Maraton of Santiago 2018

Santiago, january 23, 2018.- Less than three months to go, just are 5,000 places left for the Entel Marathon of Santiago 2018, the most important running race in Chile.
The competition has already reached more than 80% of its 30,000 inscriptions and, according to projections of the organization, the registrations should be completed within the next few weeks.

“We are proud of the participation of regional runners, those over 70 years old and all those who dare to run. They do make a great effort to be part of this event that belongs to the whole country and unites us around sport. Our invitation is to enroll or to go out to the streets to encourage runners and enjoying the city without cars in the streets”, said Francisca Aguirre, executive director of the Entel Marathon in Santiago.

Of the total registered, 9,123 are women and 16,005 are men. While in the distances, the runners maintain the preference for the half marathon having almost 12 thousand runners, of the 13 thousand available places for that circuit; 7,491 in the 10K and 5,676 in the marathon.

Meanwhile, Carlos Rodríguez, manager of Innovation at main sponsor, Entel, commented: “Being almost three months away from the race and to note there are just 5,000 inscriptions left, makes us very happy, as it speaks of the high interest of people for this competition. For the same reason, we want to invite all those who have not yet registered to don´t miss the opportunity, so they can connect with the city, sports and healthy life. ”

Runners from all regions

The regions are becoming more present at this race. Last year they reached almost 23% of the total number of registrants, being those from Biobío and Valparaíso the two that contributed the most to the competition. This year, these regions continue to be the most runners participate in the largest sports party in Chile. However, there are too runners from the five continents, which are already registered to say “here” on April 8.
