ARTICLE 2º. Description of tours or tours

 

Distances Marathon (42,195 meters) and Half Marathon (21,098 meters) have been measured and certified by the International Association of Athletics Federations ( “IAAF”). The event has been accepted also in the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races ( “AIMS”) and incorporated into its calendar of sporting events for 2018. Corrida de Santiago, it is not certified, and measures a distance of approximately 10 kilometers.

ARTICLE 3. Schedule

The event will start at 7:00 am and the Marathon start will be at 8:00. The maximum duration is six hours and the finish line and all check points will be closed leaving the circuit open to vehicle traffic. A vehicle of the Organization will be parked at the end of each circuit as closure and / or picking up any athlete of the competition who require it

 

ARTICLE 4. Registration

Registrations will only be made exclusively in the form online on the website, entitled: www.maratondesantiago.com, through the enabled form by filling requested data, leaving the athlete officially registered in the competition only once the payment via credit card or other means of payment that the Organization allows, was made.

This online registration can be made in stages or periods defined below and in accordance with the values ​​set forth therein. If the athlete does not make payment and / or fully fill the online form, the registration shall be invalidated automatically. Registration will take place filling all the boxes contained in the registration form, which must be read and accepted by the athlete.

The competition is for three distances up to 30,000 enrollment quotas.

Enrollment values, according to period and distance:

 

Marathon:

(A) CH $ 28,000 between October 1 and November 30, 2017, both dates inclusive;

(B) CH $ 36,000 from December 1, 2017 to January 15, 2018, both dates inclusive; and

(C) CH $ 38,000 from January 16, 2018 until inscriptions are out of stock.

 

Half marathon:

(A) CH $ 24,000 between October 1 and November 30, 2017, both dates inclusive;

(B) CH $ 30,000 from December 1, 2017 to January 15, both dates inclusive; and

(C) CH $ 32,000 from January 16, 2018 until inscriptions are out of stock.

 

The maximum number of entries available for this distance will be 13,000 participants. However, the Organization may at its sole and exclusive discretion extend that enrollment quota if marathon distance enrollment were freed and considering the available public space for the event.

 

Corrida de Santiago:

(A) CH $ 20,000 between October 1 and November 30, 2017, both dates inclusive;

(B) CH $ 24,000 from 1 December 2017 to January 15, 2018, both dates inclusive; and

(C) CH $ 26,000 from January 16, 2018, until inscriptions are out of stock.

 

The maximum number of entries available for this distance will be 10,000 participants. However, the Organization may at its sole and exclusive discretion extend that enrollment quota if marathon distance enrollment were freed and considering the available public space for the event.

 

Participants who are, in turn, customers of main sponsor Entel PCS Telecomunicaciones SA, may opt for a 20% discount on the enrollment value in the period from 1 October 2016 to November 30, 2017, both dates inclusive; or 10%, in the enrollment value in the period from 1 and 31 December 2017, both dates inclusive, unless the total of 30,000 enrollment quotas have been exhausted earlier. To this, the customer must fill in the fields ( “phone number and mi ENTEL key”) especially enabled on the official entry form found in www.maratondesantiago.com. The Organization shall not be responsible for granting or rejection of such benefit, since the data entered by the customer are verified and authorized directly by Entel PCS Telecommunications S.A. More information on www.maratondesantiago.com.

 

There will be no refund of the registration fee even if the participant for any reason or motive, even by the occurrence of a fortuitous event or force majeure, not finally participate in the sporting event referred to these Rules.

 

The Organization shall not be responsible or will be forced to make repayment of the registration fee in case of an accident or force majeure preventing the completion of the event referred to these bases, occur. If by decision of the authority, as SEREMI of Transport and Telecommunications, Regional Government, Intendencia or any municipality, or other reasons of climatologic or sismological order, or other unexpected circumstances that force the organization to cancel or suspend the event, It will have no remaining liability and from then, being authorized to retain paid fees as registration referred to in this Article 4. If by decision of the authority, the Organization was obliged to delay, cancel or modify any of the three circuits of the event and / or move the starting or finish line, or the place of supply of services, the Organization will assume the obligation to re-schedule the event which these bases relate, when the postponement or cancellation of the event is ordered; and to modify the respective circuit and install the starting or finish line at an alternative location. The Organization shall not be liable nor shall be required to make repayment of the registration fee if modify, alters or changes the circuits or the starting/ finish line, according to Article 2 above.

 

CHANGES TO CHOSEN DISTANCE  IN THE APPLICATION FORM REGISTRATION WILL BE ALLOWED ONLY UNTIL FEBRUARY 28, 2018. THE APPLICANT WILL PAY ANY DIFFERENCE IN REGISTRATION FEE. THE ORGANIZATION WILL NOT REFUND DIFFERENCES IN HIS FAVOR IF IT IS THE CASE.

 

REGISTRATION WILL BAN TO SUSPENDED OR CONDEMNED ATHLETES FOR BREACHING IAAF ANTI-DOPING RULES OR WORLD ANTI-DOPING CODE. IF AN ATHLETE APPLIES OMITTING THIS SITUATION, WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY DISQUALIFIED.

 

FOREIGNERS ELITE ATHLETES MAY ONLY BE REGISTERED BY ORGANIZATION INVITATIONS AND MUST HAVE AUTHORIZATION OF THEIR NATIONAL FEDERATION. ATHLETE WHO OMITS THESE REQUIREMENTS, WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

 

IT WILL BE, FURTHERMORE, STRICTLY FORBIDDEN THE RESALE OF REGISTRATION UNLESS THEY ARE FOUNDATIONS DULY AUTHORIZED TO RESALE SUCH INSCRIPTIONS. IF ANY PERSON IS SURPRISED BY RESELLING REGISTRATIONS, WILL BE PUNISHED, LEAVING THE ENROLLMENT, IPSO FACTO VOID WITHOUT RIGHT TO RETURN ANY VALUE AND ALSO BEING REPORTED TO JUSTICE. IT IS ALSO FORBIDDEN SUBMISSION OF FALSE INFORMATION IN APPLICATION FORM, EITHER NUMBER OF IDENTITY, AGE, GENDER, ADDRESS OR OTHER REQUIRED, BEING PUNISHED BY THE ORGANIZATION WITH UNREGISTRATION WITHOUT RIGHT FOR REFUND.

 

ARTICLE 5. Categories

May participate in this event everyone, ladies or men, who are 18 years of age at the day of the event. However, athletes under 18 year to 16 years inclusive, must submit the corresponding authorization signed by the parent or legal guardian and be accompanied by it at retirement of the competition number. In the event that the responsible adult can not attend the event, it is accepted in replace, an authorization signed before a public  notary, plus a photocopy of the identity card of it.

 

Minors, that is, 16 or 17 years may only participate and enroll in Corrida de Santiago.

IS NOT ALLOWED ENTRY OR PARTICIPATION OF MINORS UNDER 16 YEARS IN THIS EVENT (10 K).

ARTICLE 6. Delivery of numbers, tags electronic timing and method of use.

Participation numbers and electronic timing tags will be only personally delivered to participants previously registered in the Expo Running, to be held in the Mapocho Cultural Center, located on Mapocho street, Santiago, or the place indicated in the Organization. Such delivery will be only and personally delivered to the previously entered participants, which shall present their identity document. The Expo-Running will be open from Thursday, April 5, 2018, from 11:00 to 20:00, and Friday, April 6 and Saturday, April 7, 2018, from 10:00 to 10:00.

 

Along with the number, it will be given a tag of electronic timing, which will record the official time of each participant. It will be not obligation of the Organization will provide shirts for the event. In the event that any of the sponsors provide shirts for the event, their use is mandatory for participants, with the exceptions set by the Organization. The delivery of these shirts, whatever the model, size, or design, will be in first come first basis while supplies last up to a total number of 30,000. No size change will be carried out. The Organization shall not be responsible for the quality of such sports clothing, model, size, design or its pattern. Neither the Organization be liable if the tag introduce electronic timing failures or defects, since these devices are provided by an external company. We suggest the participants to check the tag operation at the Expo-Running.

NEITHER THE DAY OF THE EVENT OR THEREAFTER, WILL BE DELIVERED NUMBERS, TAGS AND / OR SHIRTS

In the event that a registered participant can not withdraw, personally, their number and tag control may, however, make it through a person, specially authorized by simple power and showing the identity card of the registered participant, as well as a copy of the unique code of inscription that he may have received through e-mail with his competition number.

The competition number must be placed compulsorily in the participant chest, fully extended, unretouched, manipulate, cut or bend until the end of the race. Participants must use the supplied tag, as instructed by the Organization.

 

ARTICLE 7. Awards

The official athletes  classification will be made under electronic timing system, therefore to be classified, every athlete should go through all the check points included in this system, placed at the start, in the route and at the finish. If any athlete violates the provisions of these rules or commits any of the prohibited conduct in these, including non-registration of its passage through all the checks points, will be disqualified.

The mds-Maraton de Santiago® will have a fund of US $ 95,000 in prizes for participants, which will be given by the Corporation Marathon Santiago, once the athletes have been subjected to testing control of drugs or doping and results have been negative, in accordance with current regulations issued by the IAAF and / or the World Anti-doping Code. However, the Organization shall be prevented from delivering awards athlete or person was suspended (a) or convicted (a) for violating anti-doping rules mentioned, as instructed by the IAAF. The prizes will be distributed according to the following:

They will be entitled to this award only chilean athletes and resident in Chile, may not be aggregated for the prizes of the General Classification (Ladies and Men) indicated in the letter a. preceding.

 

Special Bonds

Flying Goals. A special bond of US $ 1,000 to the first marathon athlete who pass the kilometer 21 in a time equal to or less than 1:05:00 and finishing the race between the top 5 of the general classification.

The awards are expressed and shall be payable in dollars of the United States only to non-residents in Chile, by bank transfer . All expenses and taxes that may apply by the involved banks or competent tax authorities, shall be paid for the beneficiaries of the prize money. People who are creditors of the above awards and residents in Chile, will receive their prize in Chilean pesos, either by check, deposit or bank transfer. The exchange rate will be the indicated in paragraph 6 chapter I of the Compendium of Foreign Exchange Regulations of the Central Bank of Chile, also known as “observed dollar”.

 

The athlete who receives a Cup, galvano and / or medal and after that, the results of anti-doping tests were positive or punished with a suspension or conviction for infringement prior to such rules, the athlete will be required to return such trophies.

 

All marathon participants who complete the course and cross the finish line will receive their medal finalist.

Prizes General Classification for all three distances, that is, Marathon, Half Marathon and Corrida de Santiago, do not apply to motor disabled who use a wheelchair and / or visually or physically impaired, who will receive their awards in accordance with the respective Ranking Category.

 

ARTICLE 8. Awards

Marathon winners: The award ceremony of the winners of the Marathon will be held in the finish area, giving the corresponding trophies to the top five athletes of the male and female general classification Marathon. Such awards will be the only one that will take effect immediately after the arrival of the fifth Marathon athlete, in a special ceremony for the mass media covering the event and once the marks made by winning athletes, were confirmed according to the official electronic timer and after the reception of the judges’ forms. The athletes that receive trophies must attend the awards ceremony, if possible, with its competitor number still in the chest. It will be essential obligation of athletes who receive trophies to wear in the awards ceremony, his race number in the chest, so the main sponsor brand’s ENTEL, or other that the organization decides, in its sole discretion, to be completely visible. Cash prizes to the winners of the Marathon will be given once the organization has received the doping tests results and if the athlete has not been disqualified as determined by these rules.

 

 

General Awards Ceremony: The awards ceremony will be held immediately after the results of the electronic timing and received the judges reports endorsed by the deputy of the event. Half Marathon distance and Corrida de Santiago will be awarded on Sunday April 8, 2018, once the marathon awards were finished. The Organization will hold the award ceremony for the other categories and for the three distances of the event, from 13:00 hours on Sunday, April 8, 2018. The Organization will not mailed any trophy, award or medal to runners who have been missed this ceremony. In addition, the winners of the general classification of the Marathon, Half Marathon and Corrida de Santiago, will turn the winners of their respective categories.

 

 

 

ARTICLE 9. Participant Obligations

  1. The Organization shall conduct the doping control to the first six athletes, ladies or men who complete the marathon once they reach the finish line, without prejudice to the right of the Organization to doping control, in total discretion, to the first fifteen competitors. The Organization may undertake anti-doping test athletes who reach the top three spots in the distance of Half Marathon, in its sole and absolute discretion. Refusing or prevent in any way, such control after been notified, shall be reason for immediate disqualification of the athlete and infringement of the rules of anti-doping control IAAF and World Anti-Doping Code.

 

  1. Will be DISQUALIFIED all athletes that do not bear clearly visible their race number on the chest, not to follow the official route of the respective distance – in which there will be check points – or show evidence of unsportsmanlike behavior, like help, receive water, to drink beverages of any kind, eating substances or food, mobilize third party, inside or outside the circuit, whether or not to use motorized vehicles, bicycles or other means of transport. The Organization shall be entitled to inform the police and to expel third parties who are caught in these unsportsmanlike conduct.

 

  1. Shall be DISQUALIFYING, deceive the Organization either by impersonating people, running a different distance indicated on the registration, etc. do not cross the check points; to run on sidewalks or outside the circuit areas, including parks and green areas; who does not obey the flag volunteers, judges, commissioners and organization staff. It will also be disqualifying do not follow the instructions of the organization in the pre start race areas, record times and other illegal conduct, the Organization reserves the right to withdraw the race number and expel the athlete from the event. Any participant without race number will not be allowed. Also, place at pre start race area for the marathon distance will be by entry registration time.

 

  1. For all participants enrolled in the Corrida de Santiago, will be mandatory to wear the official shirt of Santiago mds-Marathon ® from the start until the end of the race, except for professional athletes or federated, as determined the organization.

 

  1. Any participant who run without race number, does it under his responsibility, without being entitled to any of the privileges to which he/she is entitled as officially registered athletes and certainly will be automatically disqualified. Without prejudice to the right that also attends the Organization to prevent their participation in the event.

 

  1. Any Participant providing unreliable or false data at the time of registration regarding his identity, age, address or other information, may not attend or participate in the event, being automatically disqualified and will not have right to refund the value of their registration by the Organization.

 

  1. The resale of registration is strictly prohibited by the Organization and shall be punished according to law, preventing to acquirer their participation in the event, without prejudice to the sanctions described in item 6 above.

 

ARTICLE 10. Participant Services

  1. There will be supply points (hydration water and re-hydrating) in the routes. In Corrida de Santiago and Half Marathon courses, every 5 kilometers and until the finish line. The organization may provide special supply points for profesional and/or guest federated athletes, according to the number 3 hereinafter.
  2. The race will have an ambulance service in the area, along with 5 mobile units that can carry doctors and / or paramedics.
  3. Professional and / or federated athletes specially invited by the Organization may submit to the Medical Director of the event the special drinks that wish to drink on positions of water supply and must make this delivery before 21:00 hours the day before the event. The content is to be communicated in writing and in such bottles must include a label with the name, number and position where water supply has to be delivered. It is the only permitted provisioning, athletes can not receive any other type of supply during the race because they will be disqualified.
  4. The Organization shall make available to participants, provisioning services on starting area and Cloakroom (not taking responsibility the same objects delivered to him).
  5. The Organization will provide transportation ( “broom bus”) to transport participants who, for some reason, unwilling or are unable to continue in the competition. They will be transported only to the starting area. However, the Organization does not assume any responsibility for such benevolent transport.
  6. The Organization will also maintain at least five first-aid posts in the Marathon circuit and a therapeutic massage room in the finish area.

 

ARTICLE 11. Claims

Complaints can be made 30 minutes before the publication of the results, verbally by the athlete to the Technical Director of the race or who the Organization designated to receive complaints. It will be this person who decides in the first instance. Not agree the athlete, can claim the Jury of Appeal, composed of the members of the Board of the Corporation, located in Callao 2970, Office 702, Las Condes, Santiago, in a note, signed and accompanied by CL $ 50,000 , an amount that will not be refund if the claim is not ultimately accepted.

 

ARTICLE 12 Vehicles on tour

The only authorized vehicles to follow the race are those designated by the Organization must visibly carry proper identification. Is banned to follow the participants on a motorcycle, bicycle or other mechanical means of transport or animal propulsion, having express order of Carabineros to remove them from the circuit in order to prevent any accident occurring to participants. The security personnel from the Organization is also empowered to collaborate with the removal of such vehicles.

 

 

ARTICLE 13 Liability

The Organization assumes no liability for damages that participation in this competition can arise an athlete himself, to other people and even in the event that other thirds cause damage to participants. Participants declare that, by registering, accept the aforementioned conditions and contribute to the Organization to avoid personal accidents.

 

ARTICLE 14

All participants, by registering, declare to know and accept these Terms and disclaimer and data protection. In case of doubt prevail criterion of the Organization.

 

Statement disclaimer and Protection

Just by registering, the participant states:

“I am in optimal health to participate in mds-Marathon Santiago®. In addition, I hold harmless the Organization, sponsors, sponsorships or other participating institutions before any accident or injury that may occur earlier, during and / or after the sporting event, resigning any legal action against any such entity .

During the development of competition I will contribute as much as possible with the Organization, to avoid personal accidents. I also authorize the Organization to use photos, videos and any other audiovisual material which may includes me, accepting the publication of my name on the classification of the race, in the media and / or Internet, without expecting payment, compensation or remuneration for this item.

I understand and accept that because it is an event held on national property for public use, the authorities of the central, regional and municipal governments may impose restrictions, limitations or modifications to its layout, use, date and / or time, without prior notice, so hold harmless the Organization if any of these circumstances  could occurs. Also, I free of responsibility to the organization if the event had to be canceled, postponed or canceled, in whole or in part, for a fact, beyond the control of the Organization, produced or caused by a fortuitous event or force majeure.

I agree that the above is necessary condition to withdraw the race number and participate in the ENTEL-Maratón de Santiago”.

 

ARTICLE 15 Applicable Standards

These Rules shall regulate the registration and participation in the ENTEL-Maratón de Santiago, together with the Rules of Competition IAAF World Anti-Doping Code, and other general rules that are applicable, under Chilean law.

 

 

ARTICLE 16 ° Address
